Michael Jordan Ready, Set, Go for MINT25 Auction!

Asking who is the greatest of all-time in basketball may depend upon your generation, but Michael Jordan is definitely a GOAT for anyone who was actively watching basketball in the 1980s and 1990s. Despite all of the record sports card sales in 2021, Michael Jordan’s cards and other unique memorabilia hasn’t commanded the same attention versus some of the other players. But… Don’t worry – Jordan’s cards and memorabilia sales have been phenomenal on a net cash basis.

The Mint Collective for sports collectibles has been pushed back by two months, but the Leland’s and Mint25 Auction is already in motion and will close on January 29, 2022. Michael Jordan has a slew of top memorabilia coming up for bid in that auction. The Mint25 Auction is supposed to be 25 items sought after by collectors with estimated price tags of more than $250,000 per item.

Collectors Dashboard evaluates high-end collectibles as an alternative asset class. The same capital that could have been invested into stocks or bonds is being used to buy high-end collectibles. Let’s just say that the price of $250,000 or more for one item within sports collectibles is easily competing against capital that could have bought stocks and bonds. In fact, that amount of cash could have bought a house in many nice neighborhoods before the property prices exploded.
