Will Limited Edition Baseball Hall of Fame Bobbleheads Take Off?

There have to be two key economic factors that determine present and future pricing — Supply and Demand! Without demand, the supply doesn’t usually matter. But what about when there is demand and the supply is rather limited? That is what the sports collecting universe will get to find out about limited edition bobbleheads of Baseball Hall of Famers when they are released in the summer of 2022.

Several new players are being given only 216 examples in limited edition releases available for pre-order at a price of $47.99 each. These include Bob Gibson, Robin Yount, Cal Ripken Jr., and Satchel Paige.

There are additional bobbleheads where the editions are limited to varying numbers that range from just over 200 to more than 2,000 at various price points. These include Satchel Paige, Derek Jeter, Larry Walker, Hank Aaron, Robin Roberts, Duke Snider, Gary Carter, Tom Seaver, Cool Papa Bell, Buck O’Neil and many more players from the Negro Leagues.

Whether or not the continued interest in bobbleheads will remain strong enough for “sports investors” in the hobby remains to be seen. These are limited editions, but we do not yet have a represented market to determine how much ongoing demand there is at the present time.

These are just some of the new bobbleheads that are being shown in limited edition releases. Many of the modern era players have new limited edition releases as well, and some of those players may or may not ever make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
