Will Topps NOW 2021 World Series Error Cards Rise in Value?

Having errors on sports cards is not a new issue. Sometimes player images were used improperly, sometimes misspellings occur, and sometimes photos have error issues. But what about blatant significant errors that are so bad you just cannot believe how they escaped even a casual editorial review?

This is the Topps NOW Atlanta Braves World Series Champions set. We saw a back of one of the cards that was so full of errors in the Atlanta World Series win over the Astros that we didn’t even know if the tweet was real.

The Braves did overcome serious injuries, but they won the World Series in 6 games rather than 5. And Dusty Baker managed the Astros, not the braves. At least the assigned Jorge Soler’s team properly after his monstrous homerun.

The good news is that these impulse-buy cards had a very limited run of less than 1,000 when we last looked at them on the Topps site. The bad news is that only people in and around Atlanta may care.

Will these cards ever appreciate in value? Maybe, but tribute cards without any special provenance or purpose tend to get left in the historical junk bins. This is probably going to go down in history as a novelty item more than a highly targeted collectors item, but that is for collectors themselves to decide upon.
