Ulysse Nardin’s New Blast Moonstruck in a Category of Its Own

The Luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin introduces watch investors to the wonders of astronomy in its new Blast Moonstruck watch. Americans landed on the moon more than 50 years ago but we have all marveled as space has become more attainable by private companies to any individual for a price. The watch is designed to reproduce the moon’s rotation, to make as the company describes a dance between the sun and the moon intelligible and intensely poetic.

Of the watch releases Collectors Dashboard has reported on, this one belongs in its own category. The watch has a listed price from Ulysse Nardin of $79,100.00.

Collectors Dashboard evaluates high-end collectibles as an alternative asset class. This means collectibles are attracting the same capital that could have been invested into stocks or bonds. Many collectibles now cost thousands of dollars (or much more). Collectors with a passion to own a collectible for years frequently have to compete directly against investors whose only desire is to make a profit in the future.

A major unique feature of the watch is the 3D effect it has visually. To increase the impact of the 3D effect, a domed crystal with the land masses micro-engraved on the inside is set in a protective sapphire crystal box. The box is encircled by an 18 ct rose gold ring engraved with the 31 days of the month.

The 45 mm diameter astronomical watch is in black ceramic and black DLC-treated titanium. Available with a leather or rubber base strap. An introduction of the watch by master watchmaker Ludwig Oechlin helps the investor understand the relationship from a trilogy of astronomical watches designed by him nearly 40 years ago.

The watch is supposed to make the owner feel at the center of the universe. As space flight becomes more casual conversation instead of science fiction this watch takes the investor to new heights.
