High-End Modern Art Prints/Multiples Already Smashing Auction Estimates

Modern art has a lot of surprises for art collectors. One surprise in recent years is that some of the pieces are being purchased solely for investment rather than for enjoyment and rather than for display in museums. That has left many modern art buyers in a position where there is a lack of supply in famous artists like Picasso, Basquiat, Warhol, Haring and many others. Fortunately, there is the 2022 April 19 Prints & Multiples Signature Auction that has been presented by Heritage Auctions.

It turns out that despite nearly a week remaining the top pieces in this auction are either already challenging estimates or the prices have already risen above the estimates. So far, the year 2022 has been exciting and very successful for sales prices.

Collectors Dashboard evaluates high-end collectibles as an alternative asset class. This means original works by Pablo Picasso are attracting the same capital that could have been invested into stocks or bonds. Original art now costs thousands of dollars to millions of dollars per piece. Collectors with a passion to own certain prints or paintings by established artists frequently have to compete directly against investors whose only desire is to make a profit in the future.

The “prints and multiples” offer fine art collectors a chance to own some of the greatest modern art pieces from the top artists at prices that are not well into the millions of dollars. Just pay attention to the estimates because many of these have already been blown out of the water with nearly a week before their auction ends.

Here are some of the rare opportunities we see in this Heritage auction event.
