Tiger Woods Didn’t Win The Masters, But His Clubs Landed $5 Million+ in Auction

Having a golf auction the same weekend as The Masters was a brilliant move and maybe even boosted the incredible sales that happened. From Michael Jordan to Howard Hughes, many famous personally owned golf clubs made up Golden Age Golf Auction’s Spring Auction. Tiger Woods clubs sold for over $5,000,000. Collectors Dashboard had been following all the items in the Spring Auction at Golden Age Golf Auctions from the beginning. Bidding started on March 23 and closed over the weekend on April 9. It’s time to look at how some of the famously owned golf clubs performed at auction.

This represented an opportunity for collectors to display (or even sink a put with) Tiger Woods’ personal putter. For collectors and investors, some of these clubs and irons may look best safely displayed on the wall to be shown off as the trophy collectible they are.

Collectors Dashboard evaluates collectibles as an alternative asset class. The same capital that could have been invested into stocks or bonds is being used to buy high-end collectibles like Tiger Woods Slam winning Irons which was the high sale of the entire auction selling well beyond $1,000,000.

Here are the specific lots that stood out to us when we gave a lookover, but keep in mind that there were over 600 lots up for bid covering many gold items in this auction. Images below have been provided by Golden Age Golf Auctions.
